Sea Life Centre
Thetis Island’s Window to the Ocean
Welcome to the Sea Life Centre! The Sea Life Centre is a unique floating gazebo and vibrant new hub for marine discovery on Thetis Island. Anchored at Telegraph Harbour Marina, the centre features a viewing platform and is home to ThINC’s beloved Seaquarium and interactive touch-tank, offering visitors a up-close look at the incredible marine life from local waters. This exciting initiative is a collaboration between ThINC, the Ladysmith Maritime Society, and Telegraph Harbour Marina, and serves as a key part of the Nature House’s summer programming.

Through the summer months, we host engaging, hands-on educational sessions for all ages, helping deepen our community (and visitor’s) connection to the ocean.
The Sea Life Centre is open:
Fridays (10AM - 2PM)
Saturdays (1PM - 3PM), and
Sundays (10AM - 3PM)
A key to the Sea Life Centre is available at the Telegraph Harbour Marina Café. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a supervising adult who remains present at all times. Visitors are asked to follow all posted Sea Life Centre rules to help ensure a safe and respectful environment for everyone.
Each summer, a local dive team - Thetis Island Marine Explorers (TIME) - stocks the Seaquarium with local sea life, and ThINC staff and volunteers maintain it daily, monitoring salinity, temperature, and feeding needs. We are also fortunate to have the support of marine biologist extraordinaire Andy Lamb, who contributes his expertise to both species collection and public education.
Whether you're curious, young at heart, or just looking for a peaceful place to peer into the underwater world, the Sea Life Centre invites you to dive in and explore.
