Conservation
Conservation is the protection and stewardship of land and water, and of the flora and fauna that live there. This includes maintaining and/or enhancing biodiversity and ecosystems. Stewardship involves many roles, including doers, donors, and practitioners. For example, doers may volunteer to remove invasive plants, pick up garbage, or plant trees. Donors contribute financially or help raise funds for a cause. Practitioners work daily to guide governmental agencies, scientists, stakeholder groups, or other organizations toward positive stewardship outcomes.
At ThINC, we strive to advance conservation efforts by establishing nature reserves, promoting covenants and nature stewardship programs, and engaging communities through community science projects.
